Holganix Awarded $3.45M by USDA as Part of FPEP Program

USDA Grant Holganix

“We are truly grateful to the USDA for selecting Holganix as a recipient for its Fertilizer Product Expansion Program,” states Barrett Ersek, CEO and Founder of Holganix. The $3.45M in funding will expand Holganix’s production capabilities in Pennsylvania and Iowa, and be used to set up a plant in Kansas. “Specifically, funds will be used to support the growth of operations at the plants, including the creation of jobs, quality control, equipment, and other critical operational needs.”

The Fertilizer Product Expansion Program (FPEP) supports applicants in expanding the manufacturing and processing of fertilizer and nutrient alternatives. It aims to increase innovative domestic fertilizer production, creating jobs in rural communities and providing more operations to U.S. Farmers.

The funds provided by the FPEP program will be instrumental in bolstering Holganix’s manufacturing capabilities for its technology, Holganix Bio 800+. This proprietary technology contains over 800 species of diverse soil microbes. By harnessing nature’s own microbiome, Holganix Bio 800+ empowers farmers and turf professionals to reduce the need for traditional fertilizers, while enhancing soil and plant health and increasing crop yields. By reducing fertilizer use through the adoption of Holganix Bio 800+, farmers and turf professionals can significantly decrease their carbon footprint and contribute to global efforts to combat environmental sustainability efforts.

With the support of the USDA grant from the FPEP program, Holganix is embarking on an ambitious expansion project to increase its manufacturing capacity across key locations in the United States. The strategic expansion plan encompasses facilities in Pennsylvania (PA), Iowa (IA), and Kansas City (KC), enabling Holganix to meet the growing demand for its innovative products and further advance sustainable agriculture practices.

The expansion initiative is a testament to Holganix's commitment to driving positive change in the agricultural industry. By bolstering manufacturing capabilities, the company aims to enhance accessibility to Holganix Bio 800+ and promote widespread adoption among farmers seeking sustainable solutions for soil health and crop productivity.

In Pennsylvania and Iowa, the company will focus on expanding its existing manufacturing facilities to accommodate increased production volumes. This expansion will serve as a cornerstone for Holganix's growth strategy, ensuring continued product availability and reliability for customers.

In addition to the expansion in Pennsylvania and Iowa, Holganix plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Kansas, which will be operational in the spring of 2024. This strategic location has been selected based on its proximity to regions experiencing rapid adoption of Holganix Bio 800+ and growing demand for sustainable solutions.

By strategically positioning manufacturing facilities in key agricultural hubs, Holganix aims to streamline distribution channels and shorten supply chains, ultimately improving accessibility and affordability for farmers nationwide. The expansion project underscores Holganix's commitment to driving innovation and sustainability in the agricultural sector, paving the way for a brighter and more resilient future for farming communities.
