2. Designing a Referral Program

Referrals have the power to increase your business's profitability and solidify customer loyalty. A standard referral program might provide a $25 discount or “gift card” for the referred customer and the referral-ee. Additional ideas include increasing the gift card amount and adding a different gift, such as a gift card to a partnering company.

3. Saving and Managing Unhappy Customers

You can proactively manage unhappy customers by scheduling seasonal check-in calls, conducting customer service surveys, and taking before and after pictures to document the landscape’s progress. 

When a customer asks to cancel, remember to conduct an exit interview. The reason why a customer is canceling is valuable data to help you tweak your business operations for the better. We also recommend that you make a single person accountable for saving canceling customers and to give that person the ability to offer up to a 30% reimbursement to save the customer's business.
